For me, the freedom of being able to do what I want has always been important. The teens that I talk to today go through the same things we all went through. It’s about our hair, our clothes, who we want to hang out with. But with sexuality there is so much more that we have to fight for.
Everything about this setting expresses that freedom to me.
The freedom to be comfortable about sex toys as I proudly hold my very own Hitachi is something I did not have until recently. I am free to be in a “male” setting, eying up the engine of that car the very same way I am free to exist in the predominantly male world of technology. I am free to wear coveralls and still feel sexy.
I had a wonderful experience on this shoot and I hope we can do some small part in raising awareness that there is still much to be done to make sure that everyone has the same freedoms available to them.
